Meet Asher
On March 11, 2026, one day after his family welcomed a newborn baby boy, two-year-old Asher was pulled from a pool without a pulse. It took six doses of epinephrine to restart his heart. He survived. The anoxic brain injury that followed, the kind caused when the brain goes without oxygen, is what he has been fighting ever since.

What followed was weeks in intensive care: a ventilator, seizure activity, brain swelling, a tracheostomy. Somewhere in the middle of it his mom noticed something. When his newborn brother cried in the room, Asher's blood pressure went up. He was responding.
He came home in late April and started hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Since then his family has been driving across the country for treatment, carrying a toddler in recovery and a newborn at the same time. The therapies that give him the best chance, HBOT, stem cell treatment, and intensive neuro-rehabilitation, are largely not covered by insurance.
